Ultraviolet photography is a technique that uses UV light to illuminate the subject. It allows different colors and textures to be highlighted and reflected from the subject. Dermatologists were some of the early users of this technique, to show people early skin damage and give them an idea of their “future skin”.
Photographer Cara Phillips has taken this technique to the streets of New York, shooting random pedestrians for her new collection. It certainly challenges one’s perception of how we look! More photos at the link-through at the Visual Science blog.
