Fascinating look at how scientists are getting closer to understanding what color dinosaurs were.  Dinosaurs are the predecessors of both birds and reptiles, both of which are known for their extravagant use of color. 
This blog post (from GrrlScientist’s brand new Guardian blog) details the very cool detective work that goes into coloring dinosaurs based on electron microscopy of fossilized feathers.
