Mars Science Laboratory: How Do You Get to Mars?

So you want to heave a couple billion dollars worth of robotic science exploration machinery on a roughly 350 million-mile trek to a not-so-huge rock that you have to precisely run into nine months from now … how would you do it?

I bet there’s lots of calculus involved.

I'm working to change the way science is communicated and restore it to its rightful place. This is an indie blog that takes many hours a week to publish. If you'd like to support It's Okay To Be Smart or just buy me a drink, please consider even a small donation. Together we CAN!
