The Amazing Spider Silk

I’d wager that evolution did a lot better with creating awesome spider powers than Peter Parker’s little bite. Spider silk has made its way into goat’s milk, and scientists everywhere would love to synthetically recreate its epic strength, flexibility and light-as-air qualities for things like bulletproof vests.

The fact is that nature is just miles ahead of us on this one. Here’s what chemists know about spider silk structure, from Inside Science.
