Remember the time that the Soviets got a pig drunk on wine, put it in a cannon shell and launched it straight up in the air? You know, for science?
A whole slideshow of the event you must see to believe at Retronaut. Chances are that they were testing the effects of rapid acceleration on a living body, but wow.
UPDATE: This is from the mockumentary “First on the Moon”. No pigs were harmed in the making of this photo. Video clip here.
