Who’s Afraid of Taylor Wilson?
So yesterday I had to help destroy the pure-as-driven-snow dreams of the kid who supposedly harnessed the Fibonacci sequence to revolutionize solar energy. I’m sorry. But that kid is still a bad-ass, and should be inspired, and inspiring.
Well meet this kid. Taylor WIlson built a bomb at age 10, and built a nuclear reactor at age 14. Now he’s 17. Should be taking over the world at any moment.
“I’m obsessed with radioactivity. I don’t know why,” says Wilson in his laid-back drawl. “Possibly because there’s power in atoms that you can’t see, an unlocked power.”

There's a lot of science out there. I'm Joe, let me be your guide to big science news, wondrous science visuals, analysis-izations and all the otherwise cool science-y things out there, with all the woo and BS filtered out.

I'm working to change the way science is communicated and restore it to its rightful place. This is an indie blog that takes many hours a week to publish. If you'd like to support It's Okay To Be Smart or just buy me a drink, please consider even a small donation. Together we CAN!
