Hot Dog Hints at Global Warming
On an unseasonably warm May day in Austin, TX, a 6-month-old pup named Oliver was given a pail of water to drink. Rather than lap it up, he jumped right in.
“That’s the moment we realized: global warming is totally real!” shouts Caleb Wilkenson, a local scientist.
“He’s not a scientist,” says Dr. Harry Cobb, an actual scientist. “We’ve known global warming is real for years.”

Oh hey, look whose dog made it on The Fluffington Post! What a doofus.

Fun With Particles
Thursday I showed you this super-fun fluid dynamics simulator, and it looks like many of you had as much fun creating fluid abstractions as I did.
Well, Oliver (the creator of that simulator) has another fun project on his site: A particle generator/gravity simulator. The particles spew out of the fountain and you can place gravity wells around the screen and watch as they exert forces on their flow. I’ve gotten some pretty complicated patterns with it (including the one above), go have fun with it!

Super-Fun Online Fluid Dynamics Simulator
Some friendly guy named Oliver designed this equally fun and addictive fluid dynamics simulator. There’s real physics behind this beautiful time-suck, and it’s a wonderful example of science-art hybrid creativity.
Above are four screencaps of creations I made by playing around with the controls. Reblog or photo reply with your own creations! I’d love to see what you come up with.
