If your favorite scientists throughout history were super-hip web start-ups, these would be their logos.
I would buy stock in that Feynman guy any day. He’s my dude. Check out the rest of the superb collection from Alan Betancourt. Available for purchase here.

Ah, yes: Thomas Edison vs. Nikola Tesla, in a rap. Best thing since the Strunk and White rap.

Marco Tempest: The Electric Rise and Fall of Nikola Tesla

Electric magic telling a story about electric magic. One of my favorite TED moments ever.

Happy Birthday Nikola Tesla!

Here’s some Tesla posts to keep you occupied.
I hear Tesla’s birthday party was awesome, except Edison stole all his cake.

Marco Tempest: “The Electric Rise and Fall of Nikola Tesla”

Marco Tempest uses his soon-to-be trademark projection mapping illusion technique to tell the story of Nikola Tesla in lively light. There’s something appropriately beautiful about Tesla’s story being featured in electric glory.

Tesla Tussle

  1. The Oatmeal publishes an awesome comic reminding us of the tortured genius that inhabited the body known as “Nikola Tesla”. It also spent a lot of time calling Thomas Edison a profiteering douche-canoe.

  2. Forbes (yes, Forbes) published a rebuttal to the Oatmeal comic, fact-checking some of the claims made against Edison. He was downgraded to a douche-kayak, or perhaps even a douche-skiff. The Forbes piece also made efforts to deflate the mythical being that Tesla has become … which is completely expected, considering how he perfectly he delivers the “come-hither look”:

(This is precisely the face I make when I write this blog, FYI)

  3. So of course The Oatmeal publishes a point-by-point rebuttal of the Forbes piece, throwing down the silk glove of intellectual duelsmanship. Ten paces were walked, Edison (Forbes) and Tesla (Oatmeal) face each other with guns poised … who shall emerge victorious in this modern morality play???
